Why data sanitizing?

Modern technology was developed to simplify life in the digitized world. Bruce
Schneier summed it up at the MCSC 2019 by asking the following questions:

What are mail attachments for?
To tell users NOT to open - dangerous?

What are links and downloads on the Internet for?
To tell users NOT to click - dangerous?

And what are USB sticks for?
To tell users NOT to plug them in - dangerous?

We share Bruce Schneider‘s opinion that it is time to provide users with
work environments in which IT supports the core tasks of the workplace.
